Is Delta-8 THC legal in countries where "cannabis" is not?
First of all, what is Delta-8 THC (or Delta-8)? It is actually another kind of THC, actually there are 3 of them, Delta-8 THC, Delta-9 THC and Delta-10 THC.
The psychotropic molecule known as THC is actually Delta-9 THC, it is the strongest of the three and the one found in the greatest quantity in cannabis flower.
Delta-8 is found in minimal quantities and has a softer effect than Delta-9, however if we manage to extract and concentrate it, in oil or e-liquid for example, the Delta-8 offers “high” but moderate effects.
But what about the law?
In fact most of the laws only refer to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) but it is not specified which one! However there is a subtlety, if it is indicated in the singular “tetrahydrocannabinol” then we can only deduce that it is Delta-9 THC and that therefore Delta-8 or Delta-10 are not taken into account. Account then that if it is in the plural “tetrahydrocannabinols” we can deduce that this includes all kinds of THC.
In conclusion, we can imagine that it is considered illegal and if it is not yet registered like that in the texts of laws, it will soon be unfortunately.
